Homeschool Band
The Homeschool band meets on Tuesdays ,September through May, at the Parkdale Grace Fellowship Church 2608–1 Ave NW.
Senior Band meets from 11:30 till 12:30
Intermediate Band meets from 12:30 till 1:30
Beginner Band meets from 1:30 till 2:30.
Recommended youngest age is 10 or grade 4.
Please note this is a band program that means wind instruments – flute, trumpet, clarinet, percussion, etc.
Approximately 30 lessons with a minimum of 2 concerts throughout the year.
Music studied includes Sacred, Classical, Pop, basic theory
Parents are invited to participate at no extra charge.
Students in Senior band are welcome to sit in on the Junior Bands and learn an additional instrument, also at no extra charge.
Fees are 275$ per student per year. This year we are suggesting you pay by the month.
Students must provide their own instruments.

Director
Harold Squire was homeschooled until grade 9. He completed his high school years at Heritage Christian academy.
Harold began his musical training at Homeschool Band under the tutelage of Trudy Fossey.
At Heritage Christian Academy he continued his training playing Clarinet in the concert band, Trumpet in the Jazz band
and he sang bass in the choir.
After graduation Harold attended the University of Calgary where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Minor in Drama.
During his University years he worked as an assistant conductor at Heritage and began teaching private lessons in Trumpet, Clarinet,
Ukulele, and Theory.
During his final year Harold received the honour of being elected Concert Master by his fellow instrumentalists in the Symphonic Wind band.
Harold also plays The Jewish Shofar, Bass Guitar, Tin Whistle and has dabbled in numerous other instruments. He is a regular
participant and leader of music at his church and has also directed the church choir.
Angela Squire directed the band from 2005 until 2015 when she began handing the reins to Harold.
Angela has over 40 years experience on the clarinet and has a working knowledge of piano and flute.
Angela is a singer and a regular participant in the music department of her church.
She has directed her church choir for over 10 years and has taught several musical classes to homeschoolers over the years.
Angela homeschooled her 3 children.
Angela continues as assistant director and administrator of the band.
