Hi all, just wanted to send you my first contribution to our mini concert. It's unedited, mistakes and all, just to encourage you not to be afraid to try. We'll be thrilled to see whatever you do!
So here is "Christmas Time is here" on flute - the instrument I have the least experience on. I worked through the lesson books 5 years ago to see if I could do it, and to remind myself just how difficult it is to learn an instrument. I hope you are taking up my challenge and I will be able to see your videos soon!

Because of the new restrictions we have cancelled until January. I miss you all!! Make my day. Create a concert at home. Practice with KJOS or whatever other music you have. Plan numbers with your family. Include a master of ceremonies who introduces numbers or tells a funny music joke. Dress up! Record your concert and share it with us through your choice of media or save it on a memory stick and drop it by. We want to see just what you can do! I'm going to pick a number from my files and do the same for you! I can't wait to see your creative ideas!
Due to Government restrictions, there will be no band for the next two weeks. We will be adding a class in December and a class in May to make up the shortfall.
Please continue practicing, we want to begin recording when we are back in class. We hope to produce a virtual concert in January. Seniors Continue with the current list of songs. We want to record YMCA, Reflection and Carol of the Bells first, with 2 more weeks under our belt maybe even more. Intermediate Hymn of Thanksgiving, Hey Ho, and Rock Island express are possibilities for recording. We got to the top of page 18 in the last class so I suggest you can safely work to the bottom of page 18.. Use this time to perfect what you know. Scales are important. Use the extra exercises in the back of the book. Practice your high notes, your low notes and any alternate fingerings Beginners Jingle Bells and Laughing Song might be recorded. We started into page 15 this week. Please work to the bottom of page 15 for now. Hello Musicians!
Here's the question for this week: Put these terms in order from slowest to fastest (don't be afraid to research some of the ones you don't know) Presto Andante Moderato Adagio Allegro Largo Allegretto (2 points) |
