Something you may not know. I was privileged to take band when I was in middle school and Junior High bun in my tiny town I did not have the opportunity in High School. I had the blessing of 4 different band teacher, and a mom who made the sacrifices necessary to give me private lessons but there is so much I still do not know. For this reason I am so excited to sit under Mr. Squire (Harold) as he teaches this year. Not only has he completed his music degree, he also attended an award winning music program at Heritage Christian academy. This means he has the knowledge and the experience to back it up. I learn something every week!
Senior Band Today we talked about intervals. Take a few minutes and Google Songs to remember intervals. Trust me, this is knowledge that will help. Flutes - remember to practice LONG TONES - good for all of us, but essential for flutes Trumpets- remember to practice how you attack a note - Mr. Squire will likely write more about that and double tonguing later. You should be practicing a minimum of 30 minutes per day Intermediate Band We got to page 7 today - we have been moving quickly. Trumpets - You now need a straight mute. If you want to purchase through us let us know. You should be practicing a minimum of 20 minutes per day. Beginner Band You may work up to number 14. You should be practicing 10 minutes per day. Concentrate on posture, holding your instrument correctly and working towards a good sound. Just for fun! https://flavoreeds.com/about/ -flavoured reeds
