This week we, once again, focused on the importance of PRACTICE. We talked about how important scales are. In the back of each lesson book there are a list of scales. An instrumentalist should always begin with scales at each practice session. Even if you never get to actual pieces, scale practice will dramatically increase your skill.
Second practice long notes. Hold a note as long as you can keep it steady and clear. Set a goal for your self and try and increase the time you can hold it. Third, your book has a number of "for only" exercises that focus on your particular instrument and the ways it works. Beginner Clarinets, we learned your first alternate fingering, Your for only for this week practices that fingering. Trust me you need to know this you will use it lots.
